Annual Family Meeting 2.7.2026

What is the Annual Family Meeting?

This is a special gathering that occurs at Iona every February. We meet during dinner immediately after our 4pm Saturday liturgy. Our goals are to pause together, thank God for the year that has passed, and consider what is ahead for our parish. We also set aside time for a financial update and congregational voting on any necessary items, including electing the next group of vestry members (learn more about our vestry here).

Who participates in the meeting?

All are invited to come! The meeting will be especially interesting for anyone who considers Iona their church family. But this is also a great way for guests to learn more about our parish and our life together.

Who can vote during the meeting?

Anyone who is a member at Iona will have the opportunity to vote during the business portion of the meeting. To qualify as a member, one must:

  • be baptized with water in the name of God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

  • support the parish through regular attendance at worship and have been attendant upon these services for at least the past six months

  • be 16 years of age or older

  • personally request membership (please fill out this form to request membership)

What will Iona members vote for this year?

This year members will elect a vestry candidate and approve proposed bylaw amendments.

In order to prepare for voting, please read the following before the meeting and let Fr. Mike know if you have any questions.

Can I read this year’s Annual Report?

While there is not enough time to hear updates from all of our ministry teams during the annual meeting, in 2025 we started the practice of compiling an Annual Report that includes written updates from our rector, treasurer, and various ministry leaders. The 2026 Annual Report will be published here in the coming weeks. You can also read past reports below.
